Yesterday was Valentine's Day (duh!) and instead of drowning in the sorrow that is the life of a single, solidary person on this earth where everyone else seems to be full of love that is apparently the colors white, pink, and red, the girls and I decided to go out on the town! But I shall back up a bit.

With the recent developments in a lot of our relationships occuring so close to the one day of the year where it is basically considered a hideous and shameful thing to be single, the day where all single people are purposely shunned, we thought that we would fade in the abyss where society has said that we should go on Feburary 14th. However! We are Strong, Independent, Wonderfully and Fearfully Made Women of the 21st century. We were born in the 1980s where women wore clothing that made them look like linebackers and contrasted that with a face that looked like it was in a CoverGirl cosmetics explosion (er, well most of us). Why do we need a man to celebrate a time of love and wonderfulness?!? Because society has forced the image into our heads that women are not worth anything if there is not a man one step ahead of us! (blah blah blah, insert feminist rant here)

We decided we would go out and love ourselves and be wonderful without the man culture has deemed to be a neccesity for us. Kelly and I bought tiaras to wear in Walmart when we were there with Shonda. We were going to be princesses! And then Shannan, Shonda, Bridgette, Deanna, Kdee, Lijun, Kelly and I dressed to impress, and went out into the coupled world feeling like a million silvery plastic and pasty diamonds (which actually feels pretty amazing, might I add!). We proceeded to the great culinary institute of McDonalds where we daintily devoured food fit for American Princesses: chocolate milkshakes, fries, hamburgers and McFlurries--all continuing to wear our tiaras and deciding whether or not we would dive into a pool of chocolate. I personally said yes, if it was my own pool, and I was naked as to not ruin my clothing. I was not the only one though, so don't look at me weird next time you see me! We then went to the theatre here in town and watched He's Just Not That into You. It was a good movie but the best thing was LJ's comments. Like seriously, the entire movie was "he's so cute" (in a chinese accent). And this one time, near the end when it's a really dramatic part with a close-up of Ben Affleck, she said "he's wearing contact lense!" It was DEAD SILENT in the movies! She can be hilarious sometimes! Ahh. Wearing tiaras was an amazing experience and i shall have that memory for forever.
*i also recieved flowers from Dan and chocolate from Kdee!*
Today was also interesting! I got to church (which was REALLY really good) and Kelly said that her brakes were out. She had to run a lot of stop signs! So after church, Kelly took it to a repair shop while Erin and I followed her in Erin's monster truck. She left it there but then she locked the door with her keys inside! Kelly was quite forgetful today! :) But then she and I had an appointment to go get a singulair ear pierced at the Underground. She got hers done first because I was too nervous. Then it was my turn. I wanted to get my nose ring changed first but the guy said that it would hurt worse to change my ring than get my ear pierced so i did that first. It actually didn't hurt! But it's a hoop right now so it looks like Kelly and I are pirates--more me than her but still! Soon though, it will be a pretty baby diamond stud and will look pretty, not like we're going to steal your gold and make you walk the plank! But then, the TRUE pain began. Oh my gosh. Everyone, if you recently got your nose pierced and want to change the stud, DON'T! It hurts soooo bad! It hurt worse than the actual peircing! I am never, ever, ever doing that again! Ever! Pain to the extreme! Okay, maybe I'm being a little melodramatic, but only a tiny bit because it really did hurt! You'd know if it ever happened to you!
But then we went Syracuse to go get Kelly's spare car key from her dad. I met her step-mom and her dad along with Roscoe and Arrow, who are so adorable! I also saw some great pictures of Kelly when she was younger--hehe! Then we came back after a very tiring car ride. I was so tired I was falling asleep so it's a good thing Erin was driving. Might have been the Burger King we had for lunch but Jack Johnson and his extremely soothing voice might also be part of the assault on my wakefulness.
And now I'm at the library--Kelly and I have been here for almost 2 hours. Kelly and I have lots of homework to do. Kelly and I were distracted. By facebook. By facebook chat. By facebook chats talking about a boy who was sitting 20 feet from us. And now I'm distracted. By this Blog. By this blog that was fun to write. Now I am leaving. Now I am saying Goodbye.
Goodbye.
